Education & Training
Sid has lectured to the profession for over two decades. His initial experience was gained providing in-service training lectures in the NHS. He subsequently joined Dennis Wright, Dave Fevre & Lynne Booth to present sports injury and orthopaedic updates in Lancashire.
This lead to invitations to lecture on a freelance basis for special interest groups such as the ACPSEM and for sporting bodies such as the Football Association, Rugby Football Union and the Amateur Athletic Association. Whilst working at Manchester City F.C. Sid developed with one of the coaches Gary Walker a sports specific rehabilitation program that was taught throughout the U.K. Both Sid and Gary were invited to the USA to present at the NSCAA convention in Cincinnati and presented their course at several venues in America.
Sid published several articles and completed a post graduate CSP validated sports injuries diploma leading to an invitation to lecture on the post graduate diploma leading to a Masters degree in sports injuries at Manchester Metropolitan University, which he delivered for over a decade. He later continued his work with the University delivering under graduate training a role which he continues at present.
His freelance teaching in sports rehabilitation, orthopaedic updates, electrotherapy and paediatric orthopaedics has taken him all over the U.K. and he has made many friends and academic contacts. Teaching has provided the opportunity to write several papers and articles and Sid has been published in professional journals, sports publications and in the media.
Physio First & DMT
Over the past decade Sid has dedicated his lecturing time to working with Physiofirst delivering post graduate education days throughout the country.
Sid’s most recent academic work has been in the development of the clinical aspects of DMT, dynamic movement training a new form of exercise. He has along with Peter Gallagher a movement coach introduced this concept to the physiotherapy profession through practical post graduate courses and 2017 will see the launch of a clinical series of lectures for physiotherapists and exercise professionals
