Helping you make the best recovery after Injury or Post-Op

Sports Specific Rehab

We recognise that the demands of each individual sport are different. Athletes utilise different metabolic energy systems, utilise muscles in different ways, recruit different muscle fibre types and have varying technical demands.

Our experience and the scientific literature confirms that to enhance performance, optimise rehabilitation and improve technique exercise must have a sports specific component built in.

Our physiotherapists work with athletes individually to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

DMT (dynamic movement training)

Our team has developed a new and exciting form of rehabilitation and training exercise. Dynamic Movement Training develops fitness and conditions the whole body with an emphasis on the connected myo-fascial structures. Identifying and correcting movement error and developing a body fit and conditioned for sport improves performance and reduces injury risk. DMT is a blend of Pilates and core work, yoga and flexibility work, strength and control work with a dynamic movement based focus.

We have exclusively developed DMT and it is now being taught at post graduate level to physiotherapists and exercise professionals.

The Young Athlete

We recognise that young athletes suffer from unique set of injuries that adults by definition cannot have i.e. injuries to the growth tissues within the developing skeleton. Growth tissues such as growth plates (physeal plates ) , or cartilaginous tendon insertions ( apophyses or traction epiphyses ) do not exist in the adult skeleton having matured and ossified.

Our principal Sid Ahamed MCSP is one of the U.K’s leading lecturers in the treatment of young athletes teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Sid has ensured that all of our clinical staff have been trained to treat this specialist population.

Our physiotherapist are trained to assess and to provide your youngster with the appropriate advice on their injury, training and equipment and can also advise on corrective orthoses and orthopaedic aids.

Spinal Clinic

Our physiotherapists have been trained at post graduate level to manage the sporting back in both young and adult populations

Sport can place tremendous strain on the structural components and soft tissue support structures of the spine leading to injury and painful dysfunction.

We are able to assess and treat such injury, develop appropriate rehabilitation and preventative programs and to tackle poor movement control / technique.

For more serious cases we have long established working relationships with the regions premier Spinal orthopaedic and neurosurgeon
