Sid is a clinician and educator with over 30 years of experience. He is nationally recognised as one of the country’s leading physiotherapists. For more than 25 years he has taught undergraduate physiotherapy degree students and presents throughout the UK on the post graduate circuit for qualified chartered physiotherapists in private practice, the NHS and those working in professional sport. He also regularly presents at medical conferences. All this ensures that as a clinic we remain at the cutting edge of our profession.
Sid has built a team working together as Prestwich Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic Ltd, where he continues clinical practice whilst maintaining his passion for education and teaching.
Joanne qualified from Manchester School of Physiotherapy in 1998 and worked for five years in the NHS in Manchester, becoming a Senior Physiotherapist.
She has also worked with the England Men’s Lacrosse team and the Lancashire and North of England under 16’s Rugby teams.
Joanne joined the Prestwich Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic in 2003.
She has a wide sports background including Hockey, Netball and Tennis and is particularly interested in Rehabilitating Sports Injuries, Pilates and Acupuncture.
PILATES: Trained in Pilates by the AACP, Joanne provides a one to one Pilates Tuition service in addition to her clinical practice.
ACUPUNCTURE: Joanne qualified in Acupuncture in 2001 and uses it regularly in treating a variety of painful conditions.
Having gained extensive post graduate training in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Joanne has a special interest in the shoulder complex and rehabilitation. She is in regular contact with our local Shoulder Surgeons and attends regular training days and meetings.
Paul a senior musculo-skeletal specialist is the newest addition to the practice joining the team in November 2014. Paul has injected new blood into the practice helping us to maintain our forward looking treatment approach and is currently developing our wellbeing program.
Since graduating from the University of Salford he has worked in the NHS & private practice.
Sam is our lead Sports Therapist. He graduated with a degree in sports therapy from Edge Hill University, and began his career working in semi-professional football and quickly developed his service into other sports. He combined his sports work with private practice providing services and supporting local Physiotherapy and Chiropractic clinics.
Sam is heavily involved with our sports rehabilitation and post op rehabilitation programs.
In our Wellness Program he co-ordinates and manages the Personal Training Program, Exercise Classes and is involved in our Health Testing program.
As a fully qualified massage therapist, Sam offers both Sports and Swedish massage at the practice.
