Limited service from June 1st 2020 for urgent patients
NHS England and the CSP, HCPC and HSE advise it is now safe to open up our service for more urgent patients. The advice remains that non-urgent patients should be seen on a virtual-only basis i.e. via WhatsApp, Facetime etc or by telephone triage. We have considered and implemented their collective recommended precautions including:
1. A COVID-19 risk assessment
2. A deep clean of the clinic and enhanced cleaning procedures of treatment rooms between appointments
3. PPE : physiotherapists wear full PPE – Visor, mask, gloves and apron, patients will be provided with a face mask
4. Limited staggered appointments with reduced staff and patient numbers
5. 2m distancing where possible with individual waiting areas, one-way traffic and a modified appointment and waiting procedure
6. Hand sanitiser use by all on entering and leaving the clinic and for clinicians between patients
Making an appointment :
Wherever possible please email us to request an appointment at prestwich@physioclinics.co.uk
If you cannot email please leave a message on 0161 773 3034 (At present to maximise safety we are working without reception staff).
Current regulation dictates that a physiotherapist telephone you to run through a risk assessment. If your condition is urgent and the benefits of seeing you outweigh the risks of covid-19 transmission we will be able to see you. Our site risk assessment identifies a low risk of transmission due to the mitigating factors we have introduced. For most people, you will then be provided with an appointment at the clinic or for a home visit. All instructions re safety etc will be provided. If we identify that you are in a high-risk group a face to face appointment may not be possible and we can provide a virtual or telephone appointment.
Fees :
Clinic Visit £ 40 Home visit £ 60
Virtual / Telephone consultation £20
All telephone and virtual ( WhatsApp, Facetime ) consultations will have a written record and patient notes made up with appropriate GP or specialist correspondence as required. Payment can be made securely with a card over the telephone or by invoicing and cheque. For patients who kindly supported our COVID-19 Crowdfunding Scheme there will be no charge for this service.
Appointment Instructions
You will be provided with an appointment on the telephone
- For those arriving by car with mobile telephones: Please wait in your vehicle until your physiotherapist phones you and advises you to enter.
- No car, no mobile? Don’t worry. Arrive as close to your appointment time as possible. Buzz on the rear entrance door and you will be directed to an individual waiting area – There is also a new covered waiting area to the rear of the clinic if you are early and prefer to wait outside.
- Your physiotherapist will provide you with a mask on entering (or you may wear your own)
- Companions providing lifts should stay in their own vehicle whenever possible but separate waiting areas in the clinic or outside are available if this is not possible.
- Chaperones may accompany you and are still required for the under 18’s. They will simply need to wear a mask and maintain 2m distancing.
- Your physiotherapist will make future appointments, take payment and provide all necessary advice and assistance.
- When leaving you will be directed to do so via the new temporary front door exit.
Administration
To maintain social distancing and for safety, we will start to open up the practice with physiotherapy staff only. As rules and conditions allow our reception staff will begin to phase in and hence initially we may be a little slower on the admin side, please bear with us.
